Forest Wood House

Two forest rest houses have been built at Tholpetty and Muthanga. The rooms are simple with the most basic facilities and an attached verandah. A wooden staircase connects the upper and lower floors. There is no water or electricity so one has to do with candles. Prior permission has to obtained for the same from the Wildlife Warden's office at Sulthan Bathery and you may even have to vacate the room if the forest officials come unannounced. The watchman can also double up as a cook and provide you some simple yet tasty food. There is a forest department dormitory located nearby which has about 50 beds.
